Operations Coordinator

Merck seeks a Clinical Services Operations Coordinator for its West Point laboratory animal resources division. The role manages animal care operations, oversees husbandry staff, maintains regulatory compliance, and supports drug development and discovery research.
Responsibilities
- Oversee animal care activities and provide indirect guidance to animal care workers
- Assist with training, development, and safety coordination of hourly personnel
- Maintain animal source records and ensure compliance with company and federal requirements
- Manage husbandry equipment including washers, sterilizers, and automated bedding systems
- Collaborate on development and implementation of equipment validation and sanitation procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field completed by June 2027
- Research or in vivo field experience; internship or job shadow experience acceptable
- Animal handling, husbandry, and laboratory operations expertise
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices, USDA regulations, and NIH guidelines
- Proficiency with laboratory documentation, data recording, and equipment validation
- Preferred: Master's degree in Biology or related in vivo field
- Preferred: ALAT, AAALAS certification, or RLATG credential
Compensation: $87,300-$137,400 base
