Details Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a Level I Trauma teaching hospital Patient ratio of 1:2-3 Day/Night 12-hour shifts, 0700-1930 or 1900-0730, with every other weekend and some holidays 4x12 scheduling or blocked weekends available based on traveler preference No on-call requirements Floating required as needed Uses Epic charting system Requirements Active WI or compact RN license required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of acute care CVICU experience within the last 3 years required Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the past 12 months Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable unit experience preferred Skills required include IV therapy, arterial/central/PICC line management, blood product administration, ventilator management, and ABG interpretation Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips required Must pass a telemetry competency exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to post-cardiac surgery and cardiovascular intervention patients Manage complex cardiac devices and procedures including IABP, Impella, TAVR, and LVAD/RVAD as applicable Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction, renal failure, and CRRT/CVVHD needs Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available First-time travelers may be considered if minimum experience requirements are met American Traveler Job ID P-772316.
