Qualifications:

• Current RN licensure or NCLEX eligibility
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Familiarity with electronic documentation and basic computer skills
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and time management skills
• Passion for surgical care and a desire to grow in an inpatient hospital setting

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct, patient-focused nursing care using the nursing process
• Monitor patients recovering from surgery, administer medications, and document progress
• Communicate effectively with physicians, surgical teams, and fellow nurses
• Support patients and families with education, comfort, and timely updates
• Participate in quality improvement, clinical initiatives, and shared governance
• Follow professional standards and maintain compliance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act
