Headquartered in the Chicago metropolitan area (with offices in both Naperville and Fulton Market in Chicago), the firm also maintains offices in New York, San Francisco, Milwaukee, Portland, and the Miami area.Summary of the RoleThe Hospitality Director of Finance directs and supervises the activities of the hospitality accounting team, the month-end closing process, the annual budget process, monthly reforecasts, tax return preparation, and bank/general ledger account reconciliations. The candidate will be directly responsible for all aspects of hospitality accounting operations as detailed below.Primary Responsibilities Prepare, review, and distribute monthly / annual financial statements and dashboardsPlan, direct and coordinate the accounting operations of Hotel Arista and the hospitality outlets at CityGate CentreSupervise accounting teamOversee Daily Revenue / Income AuditResponsible for budgeting, forecasting, and analysis including the development and maintenance of reporting dashboards and related budget and forecast modelsOversee cash handling procedures and financial controlsOversee check book accounting and related controlsOversee monthly F&B physical inventoriesMonthly Inventory AnalysisPrepare custom reports and analysis, respond quickly to questions or requests and attend / participate in meetings as a Business Team MemberOversee the preparation and issuance of daily revenue and labor reports to hotel managersOversee the preparation of all reconciliations and work papersPrepare monthly / quarterly / annual sales and use tax, F&B / Hotel Operators tax and Telecommunications tax returnsSafeguarding of company assets / ensure strong internal controls are always in placeHold managers accountable to maintaining staffing in accordance with staffing guide so that labor is in line with revenueHold Managers accountable to achieving departmental expense budgetsComplete Departmental P&L / Operating Statement Reviews by the 20th of each monthIssue daily, weekly, and monthly trend reports and operating statement and dashboards to managers and ownershipConduct periodic training in the departmental stand-up / pre-shift meetingsPerforms related duties as assigned.Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.At least 5 years of hotel and accounting experience.Solid background in the implementation of integration of financial systems and related policies and procedures (NetSuite, Power BI, Symphony, Opera, Delphi)Exceptional technical, analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent organization, multi-tasking, prioritizing, and teamwork skillsStrong communications skills, both oral and writtenAbility to motivate, direct and develop staff membersMust be proficient with Microsoft Access and ExcelCompensation DisclosureThe compensation for this role takes into account various factors, including work location, individual skill set, relevant experience, and other business needs. The estimated base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000.
