Senior Claims Examiner

Core Specialty Insurance Services, Inc.

A multi‑state commercial insurance carrier is seeking a qualified Senior Claims Examiner for its Vancouver, WA claims office. Key Accountabilities / Deliverables Investigate commercial insurance automobile, property protection and general liability claims from initial loss report through final disposition. Conduct investigations of policy coverage and liability with detailed analysis of applicable state laws, including damage determination for property, commercial commodity and personal injury claims. Establish a course of action to conclude claims in a timely manner and in compliance with state regulatory requirements. Analyze exposures and ensure proper reserves are established. Escalate high‑exposure claims to management for direction. Assign tasks to outside vendors and oversee vendor management. Communicate with policyholders, agents and underwriting on key claim issues. Conduct open claim reviews and work cohesively with other departments to deliver superior customer and claim service to policyholders. Travel may be required to attend mediations, trials and training activities. Technical Knowledge & Understanding Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong analytical skills for efficient and effective information analysis. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for expressing complex evaluations and resolving claims through well‑planned negotiation strategies. Customer service skills and a willingness to work in a team‑oriented environment. Data entry skills with attention to detail. Required Experience & Education 5+ years of experience handling bodily injury claims. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Expected pay range: $80,200 to $85,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and experiences.
