Medical Records Technician (Office Automation)

Duties
Help
Assemble, maintain, and retrieve outpatient records.
Organize and check medical and dental records for completeness and accuracy.
Pull charts in advance for various clinic appointments and prepares routine laboratory and x-ray request forms for the dentists and physicians.
Complete necessary documentation and forms for processing and shipment as needed.
Identify and directs patients to the appropriate clinic/ancillary service.
Prepares correspondence, reports and other material, and releases medical and dental information in accordance with current Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines.
Greet outpatients and reviews appropriate documents.
