Pay: Depends on experience
Job Description
Join a long-established, family-owned manufacturer that designs and builds industrial-scale processing equipment. In this role, you will apply your electrical and panel-building expertise to construct and assemble control panels, with the opportunity to help lead and shape the electrical panel-building division. You will work on first shift in a stable environment where attention to detail, craftsmanship, and teamwork are highly valued.
Why Work Here?
You will join a steady, long-tenured organization with more than 90 years of continuous operation, offering a strong sense of stability and continuity. The company promotes a healthy work-life balance through a consistent first-shift schedule and a compressed workweek. Once hired directly, employees are eligible for an annual December profit-sharing bonus in which leftover profits are distributed equally among all team members, regardless of role or hierarchy, often resulting in a substantial payout. The culture values fairness, teamwork, and shared success, and the facility is conveniently located in a central area of Columbus.
Responsibilities
- Build and assemble electrical control panels from start to finish, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and consistency with design specifications.
- Read, interpret, and utilize blueprints and electrical schematics to complete panel-building projects correctly and safely.
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, mount, wire, and assemble components within electrical panels.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail throughout the panel-building process, verifying correct wiring, labeling, and component placement.
- Collaborate effectively with coworkers, typically working in small teams of 1–2 people to complete each panel type.
- Follow established quality assurance and quality control procedures to ensure all panels meet internal and customer standards.
- Support the development and organization of the panel-building area, contributing ideas to improve processes, safety, and efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies while working with electrical components, tools, and equipment.
Essential Skills
- 3–5 years of experience working as an electrician or in a closely related electrical role.
- Proficiency in reading and working from blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Hands-on experience with electrical panel building and control panel assembly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Skilled in the safe use of hand tools and power tools commonly used in electrical and panel-building work.
