Job Summary

Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit travel position for a clinician providing care to predominantly pediatric cardiac intensive care patients, with additional coverage for general pediatric intensive care cases. The role supports complex cardiac, respiratory, surgical, medical, and neurological patients across a high-acuity critical care environment.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience, including at least 1 year of Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), Prismax, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Schedule: Night shifts with shift times of 7:00 PM–7:30 AM; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekend rotation is every other weekend. No scheduled on-call requirement; low-census standby may result in being called in for a later portion of the shift. Assignment dates are 11/16/2026 through 02/13/2027.
• Additional Information: The position primarily supports pediatric cardiac intensive care patients and may also include general pediatric intensive care patients with congenital heart defects, post-operative cardiac care, post-catheterization care, congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy, myocarditis, post-cardiac arrest care, respiratory conditions, trauma, and surgical diagnoses. Responsibilities include aseptic and sterile technique, dressing changes, ventilator and tracheostomy management, suctioning, gastrostomy/gastrojejunostomy/jejunostomy tube management, nasogastric tube care, chest tube management, epidural and patient-controlled analgesia pump management, infusion management, urinary catheter care, central line care and blood draws, peripheral laboratory draws, and patient discharge preparation. The role may care for patients from infancy through adulthood in rare cases. Professional solid-color attire is required, with long hair secured and sleeves able to remain above the elbow.
