Job Summary

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) – [Location]

This position involves providing specialized care in a Level II children’s hospital with a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The role focuses on supporting critically ill neonates, including preterm infants as early as 22 weeks gestation, with a variety of complex diagnoses such as respiratory distress syndrome, high-risk deliveries, and neonatal abstinence syndrome. The NICU is part of a pediatric hospital connected to an adult hospital, offering private rooms and advanced neonatal services.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: BLS, NRP, Washington state license; PALS strongly preferred; respiratory support for vents required, trachs highly preferred but not mandatory; proficient in managing NG/OG tubes, NCPAP, UAC/UVC, PICC lines, medication administration, and care planning. Minimum 2 years of Level III-IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience; experience with surgical patients and hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy preferred.
• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: The role involves caring for neonatal patients with diagnoses including prematurity, RDS, NAS, and high-risk deliveries. The facility utilizes EPIC electronic health records. Floating to MedSurg or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for patients one year or younger may be required. Weekend rotations occur every other weekend, with occasional back-to-back weekends.
