Human Resource Assistant
This position is responsible for supporting payroll operations for MaineDOT, including assisting with payroll processing, data entry, and assigned projects. Additional responsibilities may include a variety of administrative and human resourcerelated tasks, such as scanning documents, maintaining human resource records, and working within systems unique to MaineDOT.
Strong customer service skills are essential, as this role requires regular interaction with employees, supervisors, managers, and other State government entities. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, accuracy in data entry and calculations, and exceptional attention to detail. The position also requires strong organizational skills, the ability to meet strict deadlines, and the capacity to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Human Resource Assistants independently apply state human resource rules, policies, and procedures to routine matters, while implementing actions directed by higher-level professionals on more complex or non-routine issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education, training, and/or experience which provides a basic knowledge and understanding of human resource functions.
