Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience. 7 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 5 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance. Experience with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in a public accounting or multinational company setting. The Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS) Operations Accountant provides critical business advisory support for all matters impacting fixed asset accounting. In this role, you will advise the business on complex transactions, execute reporting cycles, and ensure compliance. In addition, you will drive system improvements and contribute to transformation projects to optimize operations and increase accuracy supporting Google’s global real estate portfolio. Partner with business stakeholders to operationalize key transactions and initiatives while proactively identifying and mitigating financial risks. Lead critical month-end close activities to ensure accurate, timely reporting, delivering key financial results, commentary, and insights to finance leadership. Lead Construction in Progress (CIP) reviews to identify and address potential impairment risks across real estate assets. Own and oversee CapEx SOX processes, specifically governing CIP reviews and property purchase accounting. Advocate for business transformation by leading process improvement and automation initiatives, leveraging large data sets and data visualization solutions to drive operational efficiency.
