Principal Systems Administrator -Tucson, AZ

Principal System Administrator – Onsite Security Clearance: U.S. Citizen required. Secret‑level DoD clearance (DoDD 8140/8570 required). Must obtain CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent within 6 months. Responsibilities Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment. Understand Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication. Work as a team member in a fast‑paced technological environment. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high scope, including hardware and OS integration. Understand data RAID, data backup uses, and technologies. Install and configure software applications requested by end users. Collaborate with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures. Systems are operational 24x7; occasional work beyond standard hours required. Travel up to 10% of the time. Qualifications Required: University degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with minimum 3 years of experience. Windows and Linux experience. Experience in Active Directory, VMware, or networking administration. Preferred: DoDD 8140/8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) and an operating system certification. In‑depth experience with Windows Server. Experience with data storage, NAS/SAN technologies and solutions. Experience with VMware vCenter, vSphere, ESX, and other virtual computing methods. Experience with security posturing tools such as SCAP, Nessus, Splunk, Symantec, and other AV solutions, and system hardening. RTX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
