Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A pharmacy technician position is available to provide essential coverage in a busy pharmacy setting in San Antonio, Texas. This contract role begins Monday, the 14th, and continues until a permanent technician is hired. The shift runs from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, focusing on supporting pharmacists and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations with accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Medication Preparation: Accurately read prescriptions, calculate dosages, measure, mix, count, and label medications for pharmacist dispensing.
• Dispensing & Documentation: Dispense medications, process insurance claims, maintain patient profiles, and file prescriptions efficiently.
• Inventory Management: Track pharmacy inventory, perform order entry, manage stock rotation, and order necessary supplies.
• Workflow Support: Manage daily pharmacy workflow, including opening and closing tasks, to guarantee timely patient service.
• Communication: Engage professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and internal team members to facilitate medication awareness.
• Compliance & Quality: Follow quality assurance checklists and safety standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Specialized Tasks (if applicable): Operate dispensing machines or robotics and assist with IV room operations or compounding sterile and non-sterile preparations.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Current Pharmacy Technician certification or licensure according to state regulations.
• Previous pharmacy technician experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy environment.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Familiarity with pharmacy software and inventory management systems is preferred.
