Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide essential pharmacy technician support at a military base pharmacy located in Jbsa Lackland, TX, covering a shift from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM. This contract role starts Monday the 14th and continues until a permanent technician is secured. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare medications by reading prescriptions, calculating dosages, measuring, mixing, counting, and labeling accurately for pharmacist dispensing.
• Dispense medications while processing insurance claims, maintaining up-to-date patient profiles, and filing prescriptions meticulously.
• Manage inventory by tracking stock levels, entering orders, overseeing stock rotation, and ordering necessary supplies to ensure smooth operations.
• Support daily pharmacy workflow, including performing opening and closing procedures to guarantee efficient service delivery.
• Communicate professionally with patients, clinicians, and team members to enhance medication awareness and resolve inquiries.
• Adhere strictly to quality checklists, safety standards, and maintain an organized and clean work environment.
• Assist with specialized tasks when needed, such as operating dispensing machines/robotics, supporting IV room activities, and compounding sterile or non-sterile preparations.

Desired Experience:

• Certification or licensure as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Experience in medication preparation, dispensing, and insurance processing.
• Strong understanding of inventory management and pharmacy workflow.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Familiarity with automated dispensing systems and sterile compounding is a plus.
