One moment you’re tracing a power quality issue that’s causing intermittent faults; the next, you’re updating a set of electrical schematics after installing new conduit and ancillary equipment. You’ll move fluidly between PLC ladder logic adjustments, analog/digital circuit work, and hands-on wiring—bench-testing assemblies before they ever see the line. When an upgrade project kicks off, you lead the charge, coordinating installation and guiding cross-functional partners to the right solution. What you’ll tackle Work across electrical systems alongside pneumatics and hydraulics, using temperature and pressure gauges to inform decisions. Design and refine analog and digital circuits, leveraging microprocessor hardware and software configurations. Use Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)—including basic and advanced ladder logic—to read/write wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints to diagnose issues. Take the lead on electrical/electronic installations and upgrade projects from planning through completion. Connect power supply wiring to machines and equipment, and route cables/wires between equipment as required. Troubleshoot and repair complex machinery faults and electrical/electronic failures, including non-routine power quality problems. Assemble electrical components to specification and perform bench testing prior to installation. Read, interpret, draft, and update electrical schematics and drawings with complete accuracy. Plan wiring layouts; install conduit, conductors, and related ancillary electrical equipment. Install power supply wiring and conduit; investigate and resolve issues as they arise. Perform root cause analysis and present data-driven recommendations. Champion process improvement initiatives and contribute to cross-functional project teams. Apply advanced, complex troubleshooting techniques to restore operations quickly and safely. What you bring Five years of experience diagnosing and repairing electrical equipment or machinery, or equivalent competency via trade school/training. High school diploma or equivalent (required). Proficiency in reading, writing, interpreting, and drawing wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints; strong analytical problem diagnosis. Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Expert-level knowledge of electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and temperature/pressure measurement. Advanced knowledge of industrial controls and instrumentation. High mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Ability to modify PLCs using advanced ladder logic and to analyze issues using wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
