The advanced knowledge is in a field of science or learning and gained through a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction, experience, and expertise acquired in the Hydrometallurgy field.ScopeThe purpose of this position is to provide technical responsibility for organizing, executing and coordinating complex HydroMet Process Technology project assignments with specialization in Lithium (Spodumene/Hardrock), Black Mass/Battery Scrap and Rare Earths flowsheets involving unit operations such as leaching, filtration, solvent extraction, ion-exchange, crystallization and other commodities includes nickel, manganese, copper and gold.Principal Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesMay lead a team of several engineers to develop drawings and specifications for study, feasibility, Front End Engineering Development (FEED)/Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction (EPFC) phase project definition and/or execution with specialization in Lithium (Spodumene/Hardrock), Black Mass/Battery Scrap to battery grade products and Rare Earths and other commodities as required.Develop specialized process simulation models and HMB of hydrometallurgical flowsheet for Lithium (Spodumene/Hardrock), Black Mass/Battery Scrap and rare earths processing and other commodities as required.Design, manage and coordinate lab and pilot scale hydrometallurgical test and decipher results to provide summaries and recommendations to client.Develop Process Technology Quality Plans for small to moderate size projects.Develop and oversee Process Activity Plans for moderate to intermediate size projects.Execute Fluor’s scope of work according to contract requirements.Interface with client representatives: project, planning, process and instrument engineers, operations and maintenance to align contract requirements and expectations.Interface with Fluor discipline engineers to develop interdisciplinary drawings and specifications.Provide support to Fluor project team members to enhance Fluor’s understanding of client technology and participate in technical discussions.Provide technical guidance/support on pre-commissioning, commissioning and startup to Fluor and Client teams as required.Train team members in hydrometallurgical process technology specific skillsExecute studies as required and/or needed to provide cost effective facilities.Train team members in client business objectives, project development process & methods, critical financial parameters, and technologiesDevelop schedule logic and effort-hours budgets.Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines.Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff.Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability PoliciesEffectively develop and apply the Core Skills in Lithium (Spodumene/Hardrock) Black Mass/Battery Scrap and rare earths processing to the jobMay need to travel to attend to technical and business-related mattersMeet expectations on attendance and punctualityOther duties as assignedBasic Job RequirementsAccredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and fourteen (14) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements.Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.Job related other technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.Other Job RequirementsExperience in hydrometallurgical processes specific to Lithium, Black Mass/Battery Scrap and rare earths processingCertification in any simulation software and simulation experience hydrometallurgical process flowsheets.Experience in development and delivery of BFD/PFD and SmartPlant P&IDsPreferred QualificationsExperience in Hydrometallurgical process flowsheets/ Technology with specialization in Lithium (Spodumene/Hardrock), Black Mass/Battery Scrap and Rare Earth processing.Metsim, SysCAD or HSC simulation experience in calcination / acid roasting technology related to Lithium or other critical minerals#LI-SI1We are an equal opportunity employer.
