If you are a dedicated healthcare professional with a track record of success in the ER setting, we would love to hear from you!Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities & DutiesPerform triage and prioritize patient care based on severityAdminister medications and treatments as prescribed by physiciansMonitor patient vital signs and document medical informationCollaborate with doctors, specialists, and healthcare team membersProvide wound care and emergency medical interventionsPrepare patients for surgeries, procedures, and diagnostic testsEducate patients and their families about medical conditions and treatmentsMaintain a sterile and safe working environmentRespond to life-saving situations using nursing standards and protocolsAssist in the management of patient admissions and dischargesProvide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their familiesConduct ongoing assessments and reassessments of patient conditionsEnsure accurate and detailed patient records and reportsPerform diagnostic tests, such as EKGs and blood drawsHandle administrative tasks, including ordering supplies and maintaining equipmentEmergency Room Nurse Qualifications & SkillsAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificationPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certificationTriage nurse trainingExperience in a high-volume emergency roomAbility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekendsStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systemsExperience with critical care or trauma nursingFamiliarity with hospital policies and proceduresActive Registered Nurse (RN) licenseAssociate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalentCertification in Basic Life Support (BLS)Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experienceStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsAbility to handle high-stress situationsExcellent time management and organizational skillsCompassionate and patient-oriented approachAttention to detail and accuracyPhysical stamina and ability to stand for long periodsFamiliarity with medical equipment and emergency procedures
