Job Description

TactStaff EDU is seeking a School Social Worker for a full-time, onsite position in Denver, Colorado, supporting early childhood and elementary students for the 2026-2027 school year.

We are looking for a compassionate, collaborative school-based social worker who is passionate about supporting students' academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and developmental needs. This position works closely with teachers, special education teams, administrators, families, and related service providers to help students succeed in the school environment.

A valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) School Social Worker license/authorization AND a Master's degree are required to be considered.

School Social Worker Responsibilities

• Provide school-based social work services to early childhood and elementary students
• Support students with social-emotional, behavioral, developmental, and academic needs
• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, eligibility discussions, and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Provide individual and small-group counseling and social-emotional support
• Conduct social/developmental assessments and assist with identifying student needs
• Develop and implement interventions based on student and IEP needs
• Collaborate with special education teachers, general education teachers, school psychologists, counselors, SLPs, OTs, administrators, and families
• Support students with behavioral and emotional challenges
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Communicate with parents, caregivers, educators, and community providers
• Assist with crisis intervention, behavioral support, and student safety as appropriate
• Maintain compliance with school district and Colorado education requirements
• Advocate for student access, participation, and success within the school environment

Qualifications

Required:

• Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) School Social Worker license/authorization
• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or related qualifying degree
• Ability to work full-time onsite in a Denver-area school
• Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
• Experience supporting children and/or adolescents

Preferred:

• Previous school-based social work experience
• Experience working with early childhood or elementary students
• Experience with IEPs, special education, MTSS, 504 plans, and multidisciplinary teams
• Experience providing school-based counseling or social-emotional interventions
• Knowledge of child development and behavioral support strategies
• Experience working with students with disabilities or developmental needs
