AEROSPACE BUYERShift: 1stPay Range: $25 - $27 per hour with three scheduled increases the first yearSUMMARY:Responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing materials, equipment, and services essential to production and operations. Promotes and utilizes standard safety practices.ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Raw Material/Hardware/Outside Processing BuyerActively source approved suppliers for the most economical purchaseObtain and review quotes with manager to down select approved suppliers based on quality, cost and delivery. Provides selection to the estimating dept.Creates purchase orders for raw materials, hardware, outside processing, sealants and paints, etc – based on spec callout and revisionsManages purchase orders from start to finish. This includes expediting orders as needed, resolving accounting issues, monitoring delivery dates and working with the supplier for recovery dates when needed, resolving and/or communicating quality issues with the supplier. Ensure that purchase orders are received in and are delivered to the correct departmentSupports Production Control by providing updates on past due orders, getting recovery dates, and expediting orders.Supports estimating with quotes, lead times, pricing, etcResponsible for supplier relationships; main point of contactKeeps Purchasing leadership informed of changes within the supply chain on raw materials, market conditions, lead times, availability, closures, shortages, disruptions, outside processing, etc.Responsible for reporting NCR’s to the supplier at fault. Responsible for handling Corrective Actions, requests for credits/returns/reworkEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent2 years of purchasing experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:The knowledge, skills and abilities described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
