Events Coordinator

Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds (HKC) in Long Island, NY is looking to hire a part time Events Coordinator to support events in our Greenberg Sports Pavilion. If you are looking for flexible, part-time work with a welcoming team and a dynamic environment, this could be a great fit for you!


This part-time position earns a competitive wage of $18 an hour , with most events scheduled on weekday evenings, (4 to 10 pm) and weekends, (8:30 am to 6:30 pm).

ABOUT HENRY KAUFMANN CAMPGROUNDS (HKC)

Home to 11 independently run JCC day camps, the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds is a small non-profit which manages and operates three facilities dedicated to summer day camping located in Long Island, Rockland County and Staten Island. Our mission is to support our camps and let all children who attend them have a great and fulfilling summer while providing a safe environment.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN EVENTS COORDINATOR

The Events Coordinator will serve as HKC's on-site representative, helping to ensure that each event runs smoothly from start to finish. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on setup, working independently and customer interaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Preparing the facility for events by opening the building and ensuring all spaces are
• clean, organized, and ready for use
• Setting up equipment such as tables and bleachers to meet event needs
• Welcoming event organizers, serving as a helpful, responsive point of contact throughout the event
• Monitoring the facility to ensure a safe, well-maintained environment and addressing any issues that arise
• Support adherence to HKC policies in a professional and respectful manner
• Closing out events by ensuring all participants have left the building, spaces are tidy, equipment is returned and the facility is secured.

While there may be quieter periods during events, your presence and availability are key to maintaining a high-quality experience for all participants.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and handle responsibility with confidence
• Sound judgment and the ability to calmly and professionally address concerns or conflicts
• Willingness to follow guidance and collaborate with the HKC team
• Availability to work evenings and weekends

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• CPR/First Aid certification (provided by HKC)
• Valid driver's license preferred

WORK SCHEDULE & FLEXIBILITY

This role is well suited for someone seeking flexible, part-time hours. Most events are scheduled in advance, though occasional last-minute opportunities may arise. Shifts typically range from 4 to 8 hours, with peak activity at the beginning and end of each event.
