The organization continues to expand its product offerings and production capabilities, providing innovative packaging and automation solutions to customers across the region.They are seeking an energetic, hands-on Field Service Engineer/Technician to support continued growth throughout Greater Indianapolis and possibly all of Indiana. This individual will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support a variety of industrial packaging equipment while working closely with customers, sales professionals, technical teams, and manufacturing partners.This role offers significant autonomy and is ideal for a dependable self-starter who enjoys solving technical problems, building customer relationships, and managing regional service responsibilities with limited supervision.Key Position HighlightsPrimarily first-shift, Monday–Friday scheduleRegional service territory throughout Greater IndianapolisLimited overnight travel, generally one to two trips per monthSalaried position with comprehensive benefitsCompany vehicle, tools, and necessary equipment providedHigh level of independence and ownership over the workweekOpportunity to support a growing packaging equipment and automation businessKey ResponsibilitiesInstall, set up, test, and commission industrial packaging equipment at customer facilitiesDiagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and controls-related equipment issuesPerform preventive maintenance, repairs, and after-sales technical supportSupport equipment demonstrations at customer locations and internal facilitiesTrain customers on equipment operation, basic troubleshooting, and proper maintenancePartner with sales and technical teams throughout the demonstration, installation, and post-installation processCollaborate with manufacturing partners on semi-automated and fully automated packaging systemsAssist with the integration of conveyors and related production-line componentsPerform light fabrication and modify equipment components for customized installationsMaintain accurate service documentation and communicate project updates to customers and internal teamsManage multiple installations, service calls, and technical projects simultaneouslyQualificationsAt least five years of experience in a hands-on technical, industrial maintenance, or field service positionExperience installing, servicing, repairing, or demonstrating industrial machineryStrong mechanical aptitude with basic fabrication skills, including cutting, drilling, and component modificationWorking knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulics, and basic equipment programmingAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manualsExperience troubleshooting equipment and providing after-sales serviceStrong verbal communication and customer-facing skillsExperience training customers, employees, or coworkers on equipment operationAbility to work independently, establish priorities, and manage multiple projects effectivelyWillingness to work occasional extended hours when customer or project needs require itAbility to lift and carry up to 55 poundsValid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a good driving recordPreferred QualificationsExperience with automated packaging or material-handling systemsExposure to system design, technical sales, or equipment integrationFamiliarity with multiple types of packaging and end-of-line equipmentThis is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organization known for its strong culture, technical capabilities, and customer commitment.
