REGISTERED NURSE, PACU, Per Diem

Responsibilities Function in PACU environment and provide direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations, addressing psychosocial, physical, and general aspects related to the surgical environment. Assist with the maintenance of PHA and PACU equipment and inventory. Participate in performance improvement activities. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of patients undergoing surgical, pain management, and endoscopic procedures. Monitor patient’s physiological status in the immediate postoperative environment. Communicate with surgeon and anesthesiologist immediately and as needed about patient condition; receive direction for patient management. Intercede to maintain optimum homeostasis. Show proficiency in pain management guidelines and medication dosing. Maintain regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards. Demonstrate supportive behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR. Perform head‑to‑toe pre‑procedure assessment on all patients and reassess post‑procedure as needed. Formulate individualized plan of care and evaluate for effectiveness. Assess and reassess pain, utilizing appropriate pain‑management techniques. Educate patient and family regarding pain management. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited or NLN‑approved RN program. Current Nevada nursing license. Current BLS certificate. Prefer one year full‑time or three years part‑time experience in acute care PACU setting. Current ACLS required. Handle with Care (or obtained within six months of employment) in required speciality.
