Job Title: Data Engineer
Location: Florham Park, NJ (5 Days Onsite)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with a strong background in Snowflake to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have 5 7 years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and data warehouses. You will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, ensuring data quality, and supporting data driven decision making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Snowflake.
- Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
- Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to enhance performance and reduce costs.
- Implement data governance and security best practices to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance, addressing issues as they arise.
- Document data architecture, processes, and workflows to ensure knowledge transfer and maintainability.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and Snowflake.
Mandatory Skills:
- Strong expertise in Snowflake, including data modeling, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Proficient in SQL and experience with data transformation tools.
- Experience with ETL tools and frameworks.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their data services.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Python or other programming languages for data manipulation.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Prefect).
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 7 years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
