Construction Project Engineer

Job Description

The Construction Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of various construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with design specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily project activities, ensuring construction work aligns with design documents, specifications, and quality expectations.

• Support scheduling efforts by tracking progress, identifying potential delays, and helping to develop recovery plans when needed.

• Collaborate with site teams and stakeholders to resolve construction issues and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.

• Monitor construction work to help ensure compliance with safety guidelines and industry best practices.

• Prepare and maintain project documentation, such as reports, logs, and records related to construction activities.

• Participate in regular site visits to observe progress, identify risks, and support proactive problem-solving.

• Assist with managing subcontractors and vendors by helping to coordinate tasks and verify that work meets project requirements.

• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance construction processes and project delivery.

Essential Skills

• Experience in construction engineering or construction project support, ideally with commercial,. ground-up, renovation and/or tenant improvement projects.

• Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and terminology.

• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with site teams and project stakeholders.

• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and support several concurrent projects.

• Attention to detail to help ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Formal education in construction management, project management or a related field is helpful.

• Familiarity with project documentation practices, including logs, reports, and records.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative project team.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
