Our organization is currently in search of a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Cytopathologist to join our central Anatomic Pathology Services team. This practice serves the Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island, as well as the Queens borough of New York City. The central facility supports the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, which boasts a comprehensive Surgical Oncology program, and the North Shore University Hospital, both integral parts of our extensive 28-hospital healthcare system. In 2025, the cytology case volume surpassed 243,000, comprising 207,000 gynecologic cases, 25,000 non-gynecologic cases, and 11,000 fine needle aspiration (FNA) specimens. Our department is proud to host a highly regarded ACGME-accredited Cytopathology fellowship program.

As a cytopathologist, your primary responsibilities will include interpreting and reporting on cytopathology specimens. You will also serve as a faculty member within the Department of Anatomic Pathology, contributing to the education of fellows and medical trainees. A solid academic background with proven achievements is preferred. While proficiency in performing FNA procedures, both with and without ultrasound guidance, is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Additionally, there are opportunities for surgical pathology subspecialty sign-out for qualified candidates who express interest.
