Registered Nurse NICU Clinical Coordinator

Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, Texas is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse NICU Clinical Coordinator to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. As a Clinical Coordinator in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, you will blend advanced clinical expertise with strong leadership to support the care of high‑risk newborns and their families. You will coordinate day‑to‑day clinical operations on your assigned shifts, ensuring that nursing care is safe, evidence‑based, and aligned with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

In this role, you will work closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to plan and deliver individualized care for critically ill and premature infants. You will assist with complex assessments, develop and implement nursing care plans, oversee medication administration and specialized neonatal procedures, and provide hands‑on support during emergencies and high‑acuity situations. You will serve as a clinical resource to NICU nurses, mentoring staff, assisting with orientation and ongoing education, and promoting best practices in neonatal nursing.

The Registered Nurse NICU Clinical Coordinator will help manage staffing and patient assignments, promote effective communication and collaboration across shifts, and escalate clinical or operational concerns as needed to leadership. You will help monitor quality and safety indicators, participate in performance improvement initiatives, and support compliance with infection control, documentation, and patient safety standards. You will also play an important role in family‑centered care—educating and supporting parents and caregivers, explaining treatment plans and equipment, and advocating for family involvement in the care of their infants.
