Key Responsibilities
- Perform pre-exam testing: visual acuity, refraction, fundus photo, keratometry, tonometry, visual fields, OCT, pachymetry, and A-scan as applicable
- Prepare patients and equipment for exams and minor procedures
- Assist ophthalmologists during clinical exams and in-office procedures
- Obtain medical histories and document exam findings in EHR
- Administer and instruct patients on eye drops and pre/post-procedure care per protocol
- Maintain equipment sterilization, calibration, and inventory
- Schedule tests/appointments and communicate results to providers
- Provide patient education and answer routine clinical questions
