Company The Boeing Company – Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Location Berkeley, MO (Onsite at one of the listed location options) Role Summary Lead a hardware engineering team for the T‑7A Mission Systems Team, responsible for developing, qualifying, and transitioning Mission Systems hardware such as mission computing, communications, navigation, surveillance, datalink, and displays. Oversee technical performance, supplier integration, and verification of system performance. Position Responsibilities Serve as Technical Lead Engineer for the hardware team Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes Lead investigations of technical issues and follow through with root cause analyses Provide guidance on testing and validation to assure that operational and functional requirements are met Manage performance of critical suppliers to ensure system integration and compliance with tiered requirements Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers Assign responsibilities for activities to team members and ensure technical correctness and consistency of products and services Lead research into technology advances for potential application to T‑7A derivatives Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, and peers Basic Qualifications (Required) Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical) or related field (Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) Level 5: 14+ years of work‑related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 12+ years with a master’s degree 14+ years of experience in Avionics Hardware design, production, and project management 14+ years of experience in process development and qualification, physical and functional integration, installation design, and resolution of supplier technical issues Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required); interim and final clearance post‑start required Preferred Qualifications (Desired) 14+ years of systems engineering experience involving system requirements, functional decomposition and allocation, integrated design, analysis and evaluation, and verification Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (active within past 24 months) Experience with Advanced Cockpit Displays: HUD, UFCD, LAD, and mission systems avionics equipment Experience with commercial and military avionics systems Experience working with suppliers and supply chain management Additional Information May require 10‑20% travel Position is 100% on‑site Signing Bonus Potential for qualified external candidates Relocation support offered based on eligibility Drug‑free workplace with testing requirements per Boeing policy Shift 1 (first shift) Benefits Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities Health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans Paid time off, flexible work environment, paid parental leave, 401(k) matching up to 10% of eligible pay (immediate 100% vesting) Generous tuition assistance for advanced degrees, paid medical leave programs, and student loan match Comprehensive paid time off and flexible work environment Legal and Equal Opportunity Boeing is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
