Graphic Designer

Contractor Role: Graphic Design Consultant Location: Hybrid (Candidates must be local to the Kansas City, Missouri Metro)

Department: Member Services and Communications
The consultant will: - Layout and design a complex, data-heavy annual report. This includes cover and theme ideation, layout, and several rounds of revisions with key stakeholders.
- Produce assets for major initiatives, including but not limited to digital and print booklet outlining priorities, media response resources, and various branded materials.
- Assist the Design Team with event-specific reports, presentations, and digital graphics, etc.
- Select photography, both stock and from photo libraries, for use in presentations, publications, and on the website.
- Redesign and modernize existing consumer resources
- Design Microsoft Word letterhead and PowerPoint presentation templates.
- Use design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
- Create visual assets (logos, illustrations, and infographics)
- brainstorming sessions and contribute to ideation
- Prepare and present design drafts to internal teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelorâs degree or equivalent in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as a designer with a strong portfolio
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and branding
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with UI/UX design and related
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Animation or motion graphics experience is a plus
