Description

• Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups, using a combination of standardized tests and observation methods.
• Create tailored treatment plans designed to meet immediate goals as well as promote long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing achievements.
• Engage in personalized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
• Work collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to forge integrated care approaches.
• Provide educational resources for patients and families to encourage progress outside of the clinical setting.
• Occasionally conduct inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions to ensure a seamless treatment experience.
• Document all patient progress accurately and promptly, adhering to state, federal, and organizational regulations.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and stay abreast of new methodologies in the field.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• A completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required for those who have not yet obtained ASHA certification.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
