This unique position presents an opportunity to engage with a diverse population in a hybrid setting that combines outpatient therapy with limited inpatient responsibilities. Whether your heart lies in nurturing the language development of children, addressing neurogenic challenges in adults, or specializing in cognitive rehabilitation for seniors, this role offers an enriching and flexible professional journey. Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients of various ages through standardized evaluations and keen observational techniques.
- Design tailored therapeutic plans addressing immediate goals as well as long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing improvement.
- Deliver individual speech therapy sessions that enhance communication, language skills, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing function.
- Collaborate intimately with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, families, and caregivers to orchestrate seamless care plans.
- Educate patients and their families to support ongoing progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Contribute to intermittent inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring consistent care throughout a patient's recovery process.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in line with state, federal, and institutional policies.
- Engage in lifelong learning and peer collaboration to stay abreast of advancements in the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
- Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preference for certificate of clinical competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days.
- Expertise in evidence-based methodologies for diverse patient populations, combined with a strong grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues.
- Exceptional communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to modify therapeutic approaches to accommodate varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and documentation protocols.
