Research Fellow, Community Health Services, School of Public Health School of Public Health, Boston University. Full‑Time/Regular. Job Description The Department of Community Health Sciences at the Boston University School of Public Health has a long history and national reputation for applying social and behavioral sciences to enhance health and promote health equity. A Research Fellow position is available within the Healthy and Empowered Youth Lab (HEY! Lab) on the teams of Drs. Kimberly Nelson and Allegra Gordon, funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Responsibilities Coordinate at least two studies related to sexual and mental health among adolescents and young adults (AYA) – the Youth Expectations and Standards in Sex (YESS) study and the SPECTRUM study. Develop and maintain study protocols, forms, and assessments. Assist with correspondence and materials for audits, IRB, and sponsor reporting. Organize qualitative interviewing teams and conduct qualitative interviews. Collect, clean, enter, manage, and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data. Work with students, faculty, other Research Fellows, and a postdoctoral associate. Assist PIs with literature reviews and participate in academic publications and presentations. Qualifications Experience with behavioral research in a clinic or public health setting. Experience working with adolescents and young adults. Required experience conducting qualitative interviews. Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus. Highly organized, attentive to detail, interpersonally skilled, warm, empathic, efficient, independent and team‑oriented. Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). Education: Bachelor’s in public health or a related field with 3–5 years of research experience, or Master’s in public health or a related field with 2 years of research experience. About the HEY! Lab is a group of research collaborators focused on adolescent and young adult health, particularly sexual health, access to health care, eating disorders, body image, and substance use at the intersections of sexual, racial, and gender justice.
