Field Mechanic III
Sunstate Equipment Co.: Where Safety and People are Core Values! We take care of our people and it shows! Hiring immediately, pay dependent on experience, paid weekly! Typical schedule: Monday Friday 7AM - 4PM with the occasional rotating on-call Saturday (overtime eligible). Pay range: $28 - $35+/hr dependent upon experience + quarterly branch performance bonus. Location: This position will be field-based in a territory within New Orleans, LA and must reside locally.

Experience & Requirements
Sunstate is a proud second chance employer that evaluates every candidate on a case-by-case basis.
- Must reside in New Orleans area, you will be based in a local field territory repairing our fleet of equipment on customer job sites.
- The position will be reporting out of our Baton Rouge, LA branch, and work in New Orleans on a full-time basis.
- A minimum of 3 to 7 years' experience as diesel mechanic, with a construction, heavy equipment, or equipment rental background required.
- 2 years of prior experience as a field technician preferred.
- Must have the required tools you need to perform repairs in this line of work.
- Experience with diesel and gas engines as well as drive trains is required, Tier 4 engine and SCR & DPF aftertreatment systems preferred.
- Experience performing routine preventative maintenance, major, and minor repairs on hydraulic, electrical, ignition, and pneumatic systems is required.
- You will have strong troubleshooting and diagnostics skills; experience with electrical, hydraulic, fuel systems, ignition, and drivetrain.
- A DOT medical card is required dont have one? Dont worry! We can help you get yours.
- Clean driving record, you will be driving a field service truck; maintaining a safe driving record is the highest priority to maintain our safety culture.
- Solving problems and troubleshooting go hand-in-hand in this role.
