Production Supervisor

Production SupervisorHubbell is seeking a Production Supervisor (1st Shift) to join our Systems Control team in Iron Mountain, Michigan. In this role, you will lead a team of skilled production employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, driving safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement. This is an onsite position with the regular hours of Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Systems Control, a Hubbell company, designs and manufactures solutions that help utilities safely transmit and distribute electrical power across North America. At Hubbell, you'll find opportunities for growth, leadership development, and career advancement while working alongside talented professionals dedicated to operational excellence and innovation.A Day In The LifeProvide direct supervision, training, and coaching of 20-30 IBEW employeesAssure compliance with safety procedures and quality system proceduresIdentify and respond to corrective actions as requiredLead daily crew meetings to review area performance and provide training on various safety, quality and delivery topicsAssist with appropriate staffing requirements, including interviewing, hiring and training of new employeesVerify accuracy of production transactions dailyApprove and edit employee attendance recordsAdminister to IBEW contract and company valuesDevelop, sustain and improve work area performance utilizing employee feedback/suggestions in addition to lean techniquesLead and participate in Rapid Improvement Events each yearSchedule working hours and priorities dailyImprove and maintain 5-S regularlyCommunicate with fellow supervisors across three shifts, as well as engineering, materials, design, safety and quality teams as requiredWhat will help you thrive in this role?High School Diploma or equivalent; college experience a plusMinimum 5 years of experience in a unionized, manufacturing environment with 2 years in a leadership role, preferred.Ability to follow and understand blueprintsComputer skills, specifically experience with Microsoft Office Suite programsExcellent written and communication skills; formal training a plusStrong problem-solving skillsProven organizational and project management skillsStrong desire to continuously improve and drive resultsHubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions that power our customers, communities, people and the planet.
