Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Neuroscience unit serving floor-level patients with diagnoses including stroke, seizures, deep brain stimulators, surgical/post-op spines, and neurological disorders
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5–6 for floor patients, collaborating with nurse aides available each shift
• Manage and document G-tube care with proficiency and regularity
• Administer and monitor drips per physician orders and established protocols; common drips include Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, and Insulin
• Verify and document monitor tech telemetry strip readings in the electronic health record; RNs are not required to independently read strips
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotation schedules; remain flexible with shift scheduling and potential float assignments to other units within the facility

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Recent and proficient experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Strong overall Neuroscience nursing experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with G-tube management

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring in a floor or step-down setting
• Experience working with floor ventilators (note: vent management is handled by RT and physician; RN vent experience is not required)
