Backend Developer

Virtual Vocations Inc

To support a growing team, the full-time Backend Developer will design, develop, and deploy critical backend services for web applications while collaborating with project management, data scientists, and other developers in a remote environment. Key responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and enhance backend services for web applications Create and maintain build and deployment automation code, as well as test code for developed software Document software features and perform self and peer reviews of code and design documentation Required qualifications: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in backend web development using current industry technologies Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle and professional software engineering practices Proficiency in object-oriented programming and design with JavaScript, Java, Python, and/or C# Experience building backend applications using NodeJS with SQL and NoSQL databases Familiarity with REST API development and testing frameworks such as Jest or Mocha
