Transportation Manager

Transportation ManagerWe are seeking an experienced and highly organized Transportation Manager to oversee and optimize our transportation operations for our company. This role is responsible for managing fleet logistics, supervising drivers, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and improving efficiency across all transportation activities. The Transportation Manager will also be responsible for managing the transportation paperwork at the end of each driver's shift.Job ResponsibilitiesManage and supervise drivers and transportation staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluationsEnsure all transportation operations are in compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations (DOT, safety standards, etc.)Monitor fleet performance metrics, maintenance schedules, and fuel usage and implement improvements as neededManage the fleet of vehicles and ensure that they are properly maintainedDevelop and implement strategies, policies and procedures to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service qualityMaintain accurate records of shipments, vehicle inspections, and driver logsCollaborate with warehouse, logistics, and operations teams to streamline processes and ensuring transportation needs are metHandle transportation-related issues, delays, or emergencies proactivelyPlan, direct, and coordinate transportation operations to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveryMaintain all transportation-related documentation to ensure it is accurate and up-to-dateCheck in drivers at the end of their shifts to ensure all paperwork is accounted for and/or all payments collected based off customer termsQualifications3+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet management requiredStrong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety compliance requirementsExperience managing a fleet in food service (preferred)Proven leadership and team management skillsExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesProficiency in transportation management systems and Microsoft OfficeStrong communication and organizational skillsAnalytical and problem-solving skillsCDL class A or Class B with Air Brake endorsement for 3+ yearsWhy Join Us?
