Apex has an opportunity for a DevOps Engineer. Here are the details:

Position: DevOps Engineer

Location: Remote

Rate: Negotiable based on experience

Duration: 12+ Months

Responsibilities:

• Coordinates and manages day to day operations as well as participates in project work and changes to the production server environment.
• Maintains awareness of technology developments and makes recommendations to management.
• Assists with resolution of escalated incidents and participates in problem management activities.
• Cross-trains other IT staff in the use or maintenance of technology.
• Supports efforts to architect infrastructure solutions around business requirements.
• Exhibits accuracy, attention to detail, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and ability to work in an atmosphere of multiple projects and shifting priorities.
• Coordinates efforts with industry vendors around design and choice of infrastructure selection.
• Works with Project Managers to identify requirements, work breakdown structures, activity lists, activity estimates, project schedules, and technical documentation.
• Represents Infrastructure Services in cross departmental efforts, focusing on infrastructure impact in terms of architecture, cost and operational efficiencies.
• Proactively identifies improvement opportunities in the technical environment
• Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Displays professionalism, quality service and a "can do" attitude to internal members/departments of the Firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person

Required Skills:

• Strong in DevOps and SRE fundamentals
• Focus on application metrics and recommend solution to improve metrics
• Convert EC2 deployed COTS application into container based deployment
• Basic to Medium level proficiency in Python/AWS
• Configure alarms in Application monitoring tool such as NewRelic and Splunk
• Strong knowledge and hands on experience in application testing
