The Forklift Operator plays a key role in warehouse operations by safely operating forklifts and other power equipment to receive, stock, pick, and ship merchandise. This position uses RF scanners and voice-directed systems to maintain accurate inventory, prepare orders for transport, and ensure products move efficiently through the facility.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming freight by operating a forklift and other power equipment to unload trailers and move product to the dock area.
• Use RF scanners to process and record incoming product accurately in preparation for stocking.
• Stock merchandise by resupplying bins and maintaining inventory levels using RF scanners while working on foot or on a reach lift.
• Perform order picking using a Voice Collect headset to select, stage, and prepare merchandise for transport.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to efficiently and safely fulfill orders on foot or while driving.
• Load outgoing trailers strategically and securely using forklifts or other power equipment to ensure safe transport of product.
• Follow all safety procedures and best practices when operating forklifts, reach lifts, and other warehouse equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the warehouse environment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet productivity, accuracy, and shipping deadlines.
• Adhere to warehouse policies regarding equipment use, inventory handling, and order processing.

Essential Skills

• Proven ability to safely operate forklifts and other warehouse power equipment.
• Experience working in a warehouse environment with responsibilities such as inventory, picking, and order selection.
• Ability to use RF scanners for inventory management, stocking, and product processing.
• Capability to work with high reach equipment and reach lifts as needed.
• Comfort using voice-directed systems such as Voice Collect headsets for order picking.
• Strong safety orientation and commitment to following safety guidelines and procedures.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time in a warehouse setting.
• Ability to stoop, squat, and kneel on a regular basis to handle product and perform picking tasks.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds when needed.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays when required to support operational needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience as a forklift operator, order selector, or warehouse associate.
• Familiarity with inventory control processes and maintaining accurate stock levels.
• Experience working with high reach forklifts or reach trucks in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when scanning, picking, and loading product.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent warehouse operations.

Work Environment

This role is based in a temperate-controlled warehouse environment designed to support comfort and productivity throughout the workday. Team members regularly work around forklifts, reach lifts, RF scanners, and voice-directed picking equipment while moving throughout the facility. The dress code is relaxed and practical, allowing shorts or pants, sneakers or other closed-toe shoes, and T-shirts that do not display profanity, ensuring safety and ease of movement on the warehouse floor.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FREDERICKSBURG, PA.

The pay range for this position is $21.75 - $21.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
