Details Work on a mixed stepdown and acute care surgical unit caring for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients Also cares for pre-transplant patients undergoing inpatient evaluation Patients require close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery This is not a PACU or OR position Nurses may work med/surg or stepdown assignments depending on staffing needs ICU nurses floated to the unit will cover stepdown patients based on acuity and skill set Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly Requirements Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required Acute care surgical floor experience required Stepdown/PCU experience required Transplant experience preferred ENT experience preferred Preceptor and charge experience preferred Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required BSN from a Board Approved Program preferred Additional Information Provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health conditions ranging from simple to complex Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document responses to nursing interventions Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge Delegate tasks to support staff as needed Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility Returning employees may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced, and start dates will not be pushed for candidates who are not cleared on time American Traveler Job ID P-744349.
