General Production Worker

This role focuses on installing specialized equipment to convert new vehicles into fully functional police and emergency vehicles. You will work with electrical and mechanical systems, disassemble and reassemble factory vehicles, and use hand and power tools to perform precise, high-quality installations in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Install all equipment required to convert brand-new vehicles into police and emergency vehicles, including routing and installing wire harnesses, controllers, partitions, auxiliary batteries, light bars, push bumpers, power supplies, component trays, and consoles.
• Disassemble factory vehicles carefully to prepare for equipment installation and reassemble them to meet quality and safety standards.
• Read and interpret drawings and electrical schematics with limited assistance to ensure accurate installation and wiring.
• Perform wiring, mechanical assembly, and equipment installation using appropriate hand and power tools.
• Inspect completed work to confirm proper installation, operation, and adherence to specifications.
• Operate basic machines and assembly equipment as needed to support production and installation tasks.
• Carry out general production, assembly, and repair duties related to vehicle upfitting.
• Work safely and efficiently in an industrial environment that requires frequent standing, bending, twisting, stooping, and kneeling.
• Lift, move, and position parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily tasks.
• Participate in occasional fieldwork assignments and adjust to varying work hours when required.

Essential Skills

• Experience working with automotive electrical systems.
• Experience working with automotive mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and electrical schematics with limited help.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with mechanical assembly processes.
• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for assembly, installation, and repair.
• Ability to perform general production, assembly, and inspection tasks in an industrial setting.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.
• Comfort working in a physically demanding role that involves frequent standing, bending, twisting, stooping, and kneeling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with wiring harness installation and electrical component routing.
• Background in general labor, machine operation, or general production work.
• Familiarity with inspection practices to verify quality of installations.
• Interest in obtaining EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) certification, with support provided.
• Strong attention to detail when working with electrical and mechanical components.
• Ability to adapt to occasional fieldwork and varying work hours.

Work Environment

This position is based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment, where large fans provide airflow at individual workstations. You will work around vehicles, tools, and equipment commonly found in an industrial and production setting. The role involves frequent physical activity, including standing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work hours may vary, and some fieldwork may be required, so flexibility and comfort in a dynamic, hands-on environment are important.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
