Data Center Assistant Project Manager

Primary Location United States - Minnesota - Saint Louis Park Schedule Full-time Employee Status Regular Job Posting Mar 3, 2026 HDR is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our Building Engineering Services Business Group located in Minnesota. The role focuses on Tech/Media/Telecom, Data Centers, and Mission Critical buildings and infrastructure. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for executing HDR’s project management tasks, including proposal generation, quality control, risk assessment, and on‑time design deliverable execution. This dynamic individual will be engaged with clients and require leadership and communication skills that facilitate team collaboration. Travel and extended stay at project site locations is required. Responsibilities Coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's life cycle (from development and initiation to close‑out), while under supervision of a Project Manager. Responsible for many aspects of a small project or a single aspect of a larger project. Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently. Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule. Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed‑to budget and schedule. Work with the Accounting, Operations and Business leadership for periodic project reviews. Implement QA/QC procedures. Preferred Qualifications PMP certification. Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software. Experience designing complex and large‑scale healthcare, laboratory, and/or mission critical data center facilities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field. 5 years related experience. Ability to interact with various design teams, excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
