Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology Specialist

Required Skills:

• Eligibility for medical licensure in Michigan
• Proven experience with a wide range of GI procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, pH studies, manometry, sigmoidoscopy, PEG/PEG-J tube placement
• Certification and proficiency in ERCP/EUS are highly preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
• Ability to independently handle all aspects of patient care and charting without assistance
• Knowledge of electronic health records such as Cerner, gGastro, and Athena

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience with capsule endoscopy and hydrogen breath testing
• Familiarity with hospital-based procedures and endoscopy suite protocols
• Comfort with managing complex patient cases and interdisciplinary communication

Preferred Education and Experience:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
• Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology
• Minimum of 2 years of post-residency clinical experience in a similar setting

Other Requirements:

• Availability for full coverage of specified dates including orientation, scheduled procedures, and overnight call shifts
• Ability to manage high-volume daily patient load (~12 patients/day)
• Must complete all credentialing, background checks, and onboarding requirements promptly
• Responsibility for all charting, pathology review, and patient follow-up communication
