Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency nursing and will be proficient in medications and surgical interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room setting.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with varying medical conditions.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in trauma and emergency response as needed.
• Monitor patient vitals and document patient information accurately.
• Administer medications as per established protocols.

Schedule

This position requires the ability to work flexible shifts, including:

• Rotation between day and night shifts.
• Weekend and holiday availability as required.
• Periodic orientation and training sessions.

Qualifications

• 2 years of ER experience and previous Medsurg experience.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC.
• PALS certification is preferred.
• Strong assessment, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Unit Information

The Emergency Room operates as a Trauma Level IV facility, with a total of 4 beds and 2 trauma bays. Nurses will be responsible for patient care, and there is a designated charge nurse on each shift who also takes patient assignments.

Additional Information

• Position requires flexibility to float to Med/surg and Swing beds within the same unit.
• Security presence is not housed in the ER but is available.
• Nightly patient influx averages around 10 patients per day.
• Scrub color is navy blue.
