Support Services Specialist

As a Support Services Specialist, at the GS-0342-9, the incumbent will be part of the Office of Management Services, Office of the Managing Director, Federal Maritime Commission. The incumbent will be responsible for the administrative support services, e.g., space, procurement, property, records, mail, transportation, communications, telecommunications, supply, facilities, occupational safety, printing, and inventory control, to operating bureaus and offices at the headquarters locations of the Commission. As a Support Services Specialist, if selected, you will:

• Coordinates administrative and operational support activities in the areas of procurement, facilities management, property management, supply management, emergency planning, and office operations.
• Prepares purchase justifications and budget estimates; coordinates purchasing actions and monitors acquisitions through award and delivery.
• Administers supply and property management programs, including inventory control and disposal of excess government property.
• Coordinates facilities management activities with GSA, building management, contractors, and vendors to support workspace planning, maintenance, office moves, and building services.
• Review and update policies for support services to improve operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Oversees agency mail and distribution operations and provides customer service for office support requests.
• Assists with emergency preparedness and continuity activities by serving as the backup Occupant Emergency Coordinator.
• Provides a variety of administrative support functions, including conference room scheduling, office communications, and timekeeping.
