Staffed by our talented team of leading professionals, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides a wide array of services throughout the region, caring for patients from birth through the end of life.The Sterile Products Pharmacy Technicians assist Pharmacists in the preparation of non-hazardous and hazardous (oncology) sterile medications. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to the following:Prepares non-hazardous sterile product preparations (e.g. IV medications) adhering to department SOPs.Prepares hazardous sterile product preparations (e.g. chemo therapy medications) using all appropriate personal protective equipment adhering to department SOPs.Properly uses all IV room equipment to prepare assigned compounds in a sterile environment.Assists with cleaning of IV and anterooms as assigned.Records all required environmental monitoring of IV workspace as assignedRestocks IV rooms with an appropriate amount of supplies to meet USP standards and expectations as assigned.Maintains skill and competency in sterile product preparation by completing required education modules and required testing.QualificationsExperience: Prior experience in a sterile compounding environment is strongly preferred.Education: High School Diploma required or equivalent. Completion of Pharmacy Technician program is preferred.Licenses/Certifications: Current National Pharmacy Technician Certification is strongly preferred. Pharmacy registration with Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection within 30 days of hire and by March 31st of each year.We take great care of careers.
