Senior Accounting Manager

As the organization continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the organization's financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a mission-driven environment and brings strong expertise in nonprofit fund accounting, financial reporting, and team management.About the RoleOversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash management, and reconciliationsManage and drive an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close processPrepare and review financial statements and management reportingMaintain accurate accounting records in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standardsManage fund accounting, including tracking restricted and unrestricted funds, grants, and program-specific expensesMonitor and report on restricted funds and ensure proper classification and utilization of donor- and grant-restricted resourcesSupport budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisPrepare schedules and supporting documentation for the annual audit and work closely with external auditorsEnsure compliance with applicable nonprofit reporting requirementsOversee grant accounting and financial reporting, as applicableDevelop and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies and proceduresManage, mentor, and develop accounting staffIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and efficienciesPartner with leadership and department heads to provide financial insight and support decision-makingAssist the CFO/finance leadership team with special projects and financial analysisQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field5+ years of progressive accounting experiencePrior nonprofit accounting experience is requiredStrong fund accounting experience is preferredPrior experience managing, supervising, or mentoring accounting staffStrong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit financial reportingExperience with month-end and year-end close processesExperience preparing and reviewing financial statementsExperience supporting external auditsStrong Excel skills and experience working with accounting/ERP systemsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
