Food Services Manager This position is responsible for ensuring all food and catering‑related functions, initiatives, and priorities support the customer’s overall business strategy. The role oversees the effective and efficient functioning of a café within guidelines established by the client organization and the corporation. The Food Service Manager is responsible for continuous improvement, driving and optimizing performance and contract obligations, deploying ISS Guckenheimer standard processes and concepts, and leveraging innovative initiatives and best practices with a focus on compliance. Success Criteria Anticipate client needs, deliver on those needs and exceed expectations Identify opportunities and solve for deficiencies before they become long‑term issues Adapt and pivot at a moment’s notice in a fast‑paced, demanding environment Have knowledge of current trends within the hospitality and food industry Key Areas of Collaboration and Influence Develop, manage agendas, and lead weekly team meetings using provided online tools Communicate, motivate, and interact with all levels within the organization to build and speak to the culture of Guckenheimer/ISS Support and manage client and customer relationships Ideal Candidate Experience Minimum 3 years Food Service Management experience; corporate dining is ideal Experience managing a team of management and staff of 20+ employees Proven track record of leadership: building, managing, and leading a hospitality team Positive attitude and dependability under pressure – an excellent role model, motivator and leader Passion for hospitality, innovation and creative experiences Successful coaching and teaching skills with peers, individuals, and teams Ability to create a culture of food and workplace safety Proven ability to maximize budget, enhance user experience and creativity across all channels in alignment with business strategy Demonstrate good judgement and decision‑making skills Working knowledge of Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Client interaction experience in informal and formal settings Ability to work independently as well as in a team Ability to work in a fast‑paced and changing environment Manager ServSafe Certified or ability to be certified immediately after hire Graduate of an accredited Culinary Institution or Hospitality program preferred Experience managing within a union environment preferred Extensive food and allergens experience required Key Accountabilities Position may require travel to nearby sites; a valid driver’s license and satisfactory MVR may be required Provide high‑quality, cost‑effective food service that delivers on all core program expectations Develop attractive menus in conjunction with Guckenheimer food standard programs Interview and hire unit staff employees in accordance with corporate, client, Federal, State and local regulations Participate and support corporate employee training and development programs as instructed by the Area Manager and/or General Manager Maintain accurate and timely accounting and financial records, including forecasting, budget control and payroll Maintain sanitary and safe operation in accordance with Federal, State and local health regulations; follow NSF and HACCP guidelines to prevent food‑borne illnesses, allergen contamination and meet core program expectations Maintain effective communication channels with customers and client management for feedback and continuous improvement Achieve the highest standards in food, utilizing recipes and programs Support procurement, inventory control and supply chain activities, ensuring effective processes Train staff on building and maintaining client and customer relationships that ensure high‑quality service Supervise, direct and schedule unit food service personnel following Guckenheimer organization tradition and values Schedule employees and conduct employee meetings Coach employees and conduct performance appraisals Physical Demands & Work Environment Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. Dress appropriately per dress code Work under pressure and meet deadlines during peak periods Expected to be on the floor during all service hours During service walk through 6 stations to ensure signage is correct HSEQ Compliance : All employees must adhere to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. Employees are expected to actively participate in HSEQ training and report potential hazards or compliance concerns. The annual salary range for this position is $71,975.00 – $75,000.00 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
