8227 Meadowbridge Road, Mechanicsville, Virginia 23116 Job Description The Server is responsible for courteously serving resident and guest meals, and for clean‑up and resetting of the dining room following meal service. The role includes assisting residents when placing orders from the menu, providing beverage service, refilling salt/pepper/sugar bowls, and reporting any broken equipment or tableware to the supervisor. The Server must understand sit‑down service and proper serving techniques, possess a basic understanding of food preparation, and adhere to proper food storage and labeling techniques. Responsibilities Assist residents when placing orders from the menu Provide beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk, and coffee/tea) Refill salt/pepper/sugar bowls before and after each meal Report any broken equipment or tableware to supervisor Understand sit‑down service and proper serving techniques Maintain a basic understanding of food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.) Follow proper food storage and labeling procedures Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining room Attend required in‑services and staff meetings Complete all other duties assigned Be attentive to special needs of residents including mobility deficits, memory impairment, etc. Assist with tray service Follow confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information Interact in a polite, considerate manner with residents, guests, co‑workers, and supervisors Requirements Wear a clean designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygiene Read and follow simple instructions Perform simple, repetitive tasks Learn quickly and apply learned principles Communicate effectively and work under close supervision Ability to bend, reach, grasp, push, and pull objects Stand and walk for sustained periods up to three (3) hours at a time Lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and carry heavy objects for 20 feet Be organized and willing to work well with other team members Willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays Why Harmony?
