Medical Collections Specialist

Performing collection activities for assigned accounts, the full-time remote Medical Collections Specialist will contact insurance companies to resolve payment issues and maintain accurate collection files within the accounts receivable system. Key responsibilities Conduct collection activities by contacting insurance companies to resolve payment issues and penalties Maintain detailed collection files and enter pertinent information into the accounts receivable system for follow-up Process accounts for write-off and legal actions, ensuring accurate calculations based on Managed Care contracts Required qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent Two years of experience in medical collections or a related field Knowledge of CPT codes and Managed Care contracts Experience with accounts receivable systems and data entry Ability to prepare legal documents for uncollectable accounts
